Aaaand we’re back! A big thanks to Mitch for taking over the blog this weekend so I could spend some quality time with the girls. :) It was such a nice weekend! The weather was pretty awful–so cold and rainy–but it was the perfect excuse to hang around the house and get to know our new living and play rooms. We’re thrilled. Life is like one ZILLION times easier with little kiddos now that they have those spaces to play… and I can’t wait to get everything really set up for them. I think we’re going to head to Ikea next weekend, but a few things we’re looking for:
- A very plush rug. Lucy is still wobbly, and she topples over from time to time. We always sit with her, but I’d still love to find a rug that has some added protection in it. Any suggestions?! (Thank you!)
- Foam floor squares. This actually might solve that problem; not sure. Never had the space for them before so never looked into it! Thoughts? Has anyone found any that aren’t horrifically ugly? (Not that it really matters, haha. If the best/safest ones are rainbow-colored, rainbow-colored it is! Can you tell that I’m a worrier?)
- Toy storage. I’m overwhelmed. I want to make the room look warm and inviting… and I want them to be able to access everything easily. I know we need plastic tubs for storage, but have you found any that are good for toddlers to open? (Definitely want to continue working on responsibility and putting away our messes, so that’s key!) Seriously, though. If you have anything that works well for you, please let me know. We have an Ikea Kallax shelf, so I’m thinking about that for books… but that’s as far as I’ve gotten.
